PROFESSIONAL: 2008: Carter spent the 2009 season with the San Jose SaberCats of the Arena Football League 2007: He played in a career-best nine games with the Austin Wranglers where he was the teams fourth-leading tackler with 35.5 total tackles. He also earned his first career interception against the New Orleans VooDoo. 2004-06: Carter began his AFL career with the Colorado Crush in 2004. With the Crush, Carter recorded four receptions for 39 yards and a touchdown. On defense, he tallied 15.0 total tackles, including a tackle for a loss.
COLLEGE: Carter spent his collegiate career as a defensive back at Division II Ashland (Ohio) University where he led the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic conference with nine interceptions. While at Ashland, he earned first-team honors his senior year and was named Division II All-America by Football coaches of American and Small College Football America by Associated Press. Carter set a school-record and tied the GLIAC single-game mark with four interceptions in a 2003 game against Northern Michigan. He also set another school record with a 95-yard touchdown return during the 03 season. During his collegiate career, he was selected to play in the Cactus Bowl, the Division II All-Star game.
PERSONAL: Born Toure Mitchell Carter on October 15, 1980 in Cleveland, Ohio. He attended James Ford Rhodes High School in Cleveland where he played football, basketball and ran track. Carter played quarterback, tailback, wide receiver and safety in high school and went on to compete in Ohios East-West All-Star game. Growing up, his favorite sports team was the Cleveland Browns. In his free time, Carter enjoys spending time with his wife, Sho Shana, and his dog.
